DIY Tie-Dye Shoes

This summer has been full of crafts and activities and keeping the kids engaged and not glued to their screens. I think I’ve done a pretty good job of giving them free time to play, as well as some structured activities we can do together or with friends. DIY Bookworm Library Bag

The Summer is soo hot here in Arizona. We like to spend the hottest part of the day indoors. We hide from the blazing sun during the middle of the day, with a stack of books to read. Since we read a lot during our summer break we made a DIY bookworm library bag to carry our books in!

Kind Kids Club: DIY Wildflower Seed Bombs

My daughter is 100% committed to caring for our Earth and the animals and people on it. We recently learned about bees and our family decided to create a wildflower garden that bees would love. That inspired us to create these recycled paper DIY wildflower seed bombs as part of our Kind Kids Club – to beautify our community and help save the bees. Kind Kids Club: No-Sew Blanket

Before the new year, my neighbor and I decided to start a Kind Kids Club for our kiddos in 2017. Each month we would do something “kind” with our kids. January rolled around and I read the book Wonder in the first few weeks. It was such an emotional and touching story of kindness and empathy following the life of August, a 10 year old boy with a facial deformity, going to public school the first time.
