You would think that with both kids AND mama in school, things would be less busy around here, but it sure doesn’t feel like it! Lots of big things happened in August and so far in September too!
My long feels really long for this post but it’s because so many big things have been happening and I have to share a little about them all. Let’s start at the beginning of August.
The Long of It
I celebrated my 33rd birthday at the beginning of August. My family spoiled me with red velvet cake and presents like Game of Throne wine! I even got to celebrate with my Momma for the first time in years!
Mid-august poor, sweet Ariana had an emergency appendectomy and stayed in the hospital for a few days. That was a scary few days. First, not knowing what was wrong with her, sitting through an excruciating ultrasound, being diagnosed with appendicitis and then having her go back for surgery. Post-surgery, she did pretty good considering all she had just gone through. Our hospital staff at TMC was amazing! Thankfully my Momma was here to watch Judah for a few days and we had support from all our friends and family, both near and far!
Ariana had to have an appendectomy today. She had gangrenous appendicitis which is worse than inflamed, but not burst yet. She's back in the room recovering now. Hole bunny is here and she gained 2 new friends – Fluffball from Northwest Medical and Tizzy the turtle from TMC. Thank you to everyone for your messages and support! Our milkweed plant on our back patio got 2 batches of monarch caterpillars! We watched them grow from tiny caterpillar, to fat caterpillars and then into butterflies. Follow along the journey using the hashtag #CMmonarchs on IG.
September is the month of our favorite school fundraiser – Mudventure! Mud and obstacle courses and costume contest! The kids absolutely love it. Our simple pig costumes won 1st place too!
Judah turned 4! I can’t believe that my baby is already 4 years old. He tells me all the time how much stronger 4 year olds are than 3 year olds. He had a PJ Masks cake and presents on his actual birthday and then we celebrated with a PJ Masks party in the park with friends that weekend.
Ariana and I were gifted tickets to see The Little Mermaid, Broadway in Tucson performance by some dear friends after her appendectomy. It was an awesome Mommy/Daughter date! She loved getting all dressed up and going downtown.
The Short Of It
Reading: Making Rounds with Oscar. Since I’m taking pre-nursing prequisites my mom suggested this book. Most nights I’m too tired to read much but I’m plugging along page by page.
Watching: Ozark the Netflix series. Does watching 1 episode a month count? Not enough time for tv these days.
Dreaming: Pumpkin everything! Now that fall is upon us I’m reading to start cooking and baking with pumpkin starting with these pumpkin cookies.
Wearing: I love my comfy nama-stay in bed tee. Great for throwing on when you’d rather be in bed, like everyday.
Kid: Harry Potter for PB Teen! Who am I kidding, I love this fun collection as much as kids will! Use code SHIP4FREE for free shipping on orders over $99.
Kin: We recently played this game, Settlers of Catan, with friends at a game night. After a bit of a learning curve, I got the hang of it and won! I can’t wait until the next game night!
